Our Indoor / Outdoor Studio ( by appt. only please)

The studio location for Focus On you Photography is in Stevensville Ontario. A lovely little community on the outskirts of the city of Niagara Falls.  (It's Niagara's best kept secret) We enjoy  country life just minutes from the city and we love it!  Our  log home was a 20 year dream for my husband Dwayne, and was built with alot of hard work, sweat and determination. ( A true labour of love which gave him grey hair that he didn't have before!) 

The home/studio is nestled along a picturesque creek that runs off of the Niagara River and there is 3/4 acre  for outdoor environmental portraiture using natures tapestry.  100 year old trees embrace you as you drive down the 1/4 mile driveway and they are there to welcome you onto the property as well.  In the fall, these trees provide a blanket of vibrant colors on the ground for our  "Fall family portrait specials".  No one is allowed to rake them up untill the last portrait is done!

 The snow makes for a winter wonderland and in the spring and summer the water is an amazing backdrop. We have an antique buggy and a wrought iron gazebo that are fun to work with for outdoor props! Our customers love the privacy our property offers for outdoor portraiture!

"This is me- Kim, the owner of Focus On You Photography. I have 2 wonderful children and have been married for 27 years. In our household, during the summer wedding and outdoor portrait season, a “hot meal” is a toasted sandwich!  The phone rings off the hook at times and cries can be heard from the children “Work work work, Photos, Photos, Photos, is that all you do mom? “

 Photography has been my passion literally since the age of 12 when I received my first 35 mm camera from my beloved father who was an avid amateur photographer.  The camera  became an extension of my arm since that day,  and I  practically kept Kodak in business during the 70’s! My dad lovingly taught me everything he knew about photography and gave me the confidence and the support to keep moving forward and never look back!

 I have not stopped learning since then.

  The "Enchanted" style childrens portraits are particularly near and dear to my heart.  I just LOVE LOVE LOVE creating these images and working with children. These portraits  make such wonderful home decor and  It amazes me to hear from parents throughout time ,  of all the different locations the portraits have moved around their home and how they  look great  in every room!
 

Bringing a relaxed casual style to my photography, and ensuring customer satisfaction  has proved to be a winning combination for us. Cheryl -  Photographer

This is Cheryl. Kim and Cheryl have met at the various parks over the years, while covering weddings. Getting together to “talk shop”, Cheryl decided she wasn't interested in the administrative end of the business, Cheryl just loves to shoot!!!   Kim needed another shooter to handle the volume of work and “Viola” another perfect combination!

Cheryl has joined the team at Focus On You to do what she just loves to do!! That is point her camera and shoot!  Weddings, familie's, corporate events, you name it- Cheryl is reliable and is there!

Cheryl brings with her over 25  years of experience. She is very creative and also attentive to detail, shooting the same type of casual, candid, fun-style photography mixed in with the formal stuff everyone needs!  We ALWAYS receive ALOT of positive feedback after Cheryl has done a shoot for us.

Tammy - Photo Editor

This is Tammy. Kim and Tammy met through Brenda our web designer. Tammy has an education in photography and very importantly, a true love for it! She has 3 children and as a stay at home mom was looking for something to keep her creatively flowing!  How perfect! Tammy is  our "Photo Editor". With upgraded computer skills and training in state of the art photo editing Tammy is a huge asset to our crew!  She enhances the images and organizes the files and keeps things flowing smoothly!  We are very happy to have her as part of the team!

 Heather - Candid Photographer

 This is Heather!  Kim and Heather met years and years ago while Heather was managing a Blacks Photo store. Heather is our  candid shooter capturing all the fun moments and  detail shots throughout the wedding day!  She has a love of photography and a really good eye!  She helps with equipment and helps to organize people to make the day go smoothly!   Heather also is our "photo order co-ordinator" - this title was bestowed upon her after much deliberation as to what to call this job function!!  She orders all the photos for   the albums and lovingly puts them together.  We don't know what we would do without Heather some days!
