This is the new studio location for Focus On you Photography. This beautiful log home was a 20 year dream for Kim’s husband Dwayne, and is located in Stevensville, Ontario approximately 10 minutes from both Niagara Falls and Fort Erie. (by appt. only please)
“Nestled along a picturesque creek that runs off of the Niagara River, the studio is 1 acre of lovely landscaping for outdoor environmental portraiture” (at least that is what the description will read as soon as it is completed! )
It is a work in progress, a labour of love… and yet we still are doing a lot of family, engagement and casual portraits with backgrounds that we do have available! Every fall we set up the hay bales, and are finding we use them year round now! The snow makes for beautiful surroundings and the water is an amazing backdrop. We recently purchased an antique buggy and have been having fun with it as an outdoor prop! Slideshows are so much fun to create for a family story with the outdoor shoots, and as always we mix candid with formal.
This is Kim, the owner of Focus On You Photography. Kim has 2 wonderful children and has been married for 22 years. In her household, during the summer wedding season, a “hot meal” is a toasted sandwich! The phone rings off the hook at times and crys can be heard from the children “Work work work, Photos, Photos, Photos, is that all you do mom? “
Kim has been interested in photography since the age of 12 when she received her first 35 mm camera. The camera has become an extension of her arm since that day, practically keeping Kodak in business during the 70’s!
Starting the business on a shoe-string budget “a wing and a prayer” and relying strictly on word of mouth, Focus On You Photography was established in 1993. The first year , we shot 13 weddings, 5 family portraits and 4 candid shoots. WOW! The dream was becoming a reality. With a lot of hard work and determination, the business has evolved into a 4 person operation, and to date have shot over 1000 weddings!
Now, digital photography has opened the doors for new and exiting creative opportunities! Free from changing film while shooting has totally changed the way Kim captures images, and the number of images we can now capture, making sure each shoot is amazing! Digitally enhancing the images on the computer has enabled us to be even more creative and offer new products.
Bringing a relaxed casual style to her photography, ensuring customer satisfaction, and affordable pricing, has proven to be a winning combination. Offering customized packaging, and of course adding a woman’s touch, has all contributed to the success! Give us a call! We’re very friendly!

This is Cheryl. Kim and Cheryl have met at the various parks over the years, while covering weddings. Getting together to “talk shop”, Cheryl decided she was fed up with the administrative end of the business. Kim needed another shooter to handle the volume of work and “Viola” another perfect combination!
Cheryl has joined the team at Focus On You to do what she just loves to do!! That is photograph weddings!
Cheryl brings with her years of experience. She is very creative and also attentive to detail, shooting the same type of casual, candid, fun-style photography mixed in with the formal stuff everyone needs!

This is Tammy. Kim and Tammy met through Brenda our web designer. Tammy has an education in photography and very importantly, a true love for it! She has 3 children and as a stay at home mom was looking for something to keep her creatively flowing! How perfect! Tammy is now our "Photo Editor". With upgraded computer skills and training in state of the art photo editing Tammy is a huge asset to our crew! She enhances the images and organizes the files and keeps things flowing smoothly! We are very happy to have her as part of the team!

This is Jessie. Jessie is our "networking phone girl". She helps us keep in touch all the businesses we network with.
We met while working on the Tender Wishes Fairy Portrait Fundraiser at Smarty Pants Educational Toy Store.
Jessie is very outgoing,and enthusiastic and is a great "people-person". She makes contact with the businesses and organizes all the promotional cards for our portrait parent's goody bags!
