   Boudoir photography is so much fun.  It is a really really great way to say “I love you” to your special someone for any occasion.  This session was to create a gorgeous little mini album for her husband for their 1 year anniversary! So, we created some very cool details shots for each 3″ x 3″ page in the accordian style album.  Very unique, very intimate and special gift for your special someone!

   awwww…..how sweet are these 3 sisters?  The 2 older ones put their wings on first and got ready…..the little one wasn’t so sure  if she wanted to be a fairy,  but then saw that it wasn’t so bad, so she let us put her wings on too and she got into the scene with her magic wand!  (more…)

Very exciting news for Niagara Falls Canada!  Nik Wallenda is going to be performing his death defying feat- tight rope walking across the Falls!  The Niagara parks commission gave approval for this event taking place on June 15th, and it won’t be able to happen again for 20 years!  I was asked to do a photo session with Nik for the cover of the May issue of Niagara magazine, and when I showed up, (more…)

How sweet is this little one?  Blythe is just 10 months old and her mom brought her in for her enchanted portrait. But alas….Blythe didn’t want to be a fairy!  She wasn’t overly impressed with the wings, or the outfit or having to sit on a log.  We distracted her with bubbles and noises long enough to dry the tears and get some really cute images!  One day baby blythe….one day you will be happy to be tinkerbell I am sure!

  Wow, I was so touched to receive this e mail from Denielle- a real live princess!  Denielle has wonderful business doing childrens Princess     parties. She dresses up as a Disney princess and creates an enchanted day for a lucky birthday girl and her friends! She came into the studio for some portraits for her site:  www.enchantedprincess.ca and we honestly had so much fun!  I watched as she transformed herself into the perfect Cinderella, and Belle, then Snow white and Rapunzel- with all the personalities too.  Read below to see what she wrote for me – I had to grab a kleenex before I was finished reading! “What an extremely gifted and talented photographer Kim Cartmell is from Focus On You Photography! I am from Enchanted Princess Entertainment and I had the opportunity to go into Kim’s studio to take photos in all my different costumes and I was amazed at the backdrops and props and everything she has right there that she uses in her photos to make it that much more beautiful.  Kim is a JOY to be around, she took her time, she was open to suggestions and made me feel completely comfortable….she made the photo shoot so much fun!  Plus, I was blown away when I got to see the outcome of the photos, they turned out amazing!  She puts that extra special touch into every picture.  I would HIGHLY recommend Kim at Focus On You Photography and I tell everyone I know who is looking for a photographer to go to her!  Thank you Kim and I can’t wait for the next photo shoot!”

WOW, how cool was this house!  Spencer is a very creative decorator and has been decorating his parents house outside and inside for hallowe’en for years !  Apparently adding more to the scenes and sets for years.  I wasn’t sure what to expect when his mom called me to take some photos for his portfolio. Spencer is applying for colleges for movie design courses.  again WOW, the place was so realistic, it truly looked like a professional hollywood decorating job. I was totally  impressed. It takes weeks to set up and weeks to tear it down as well. Storage for it all takes 1/2 the garage and various spots throughout the house!  mom, dad and Spencer were dressed up for the photo shoot so we did a fun shot of them in front of the house using some off camera flash, to make the image moody. They ended up using the shot for their x-mas card too- we put “Haunted Holidays” on it and added some snow!  Good luck Spencer at school- I’m sure you will do well!

This wedding really was absolutely perfect!  Nothing went wrong!  really, nothing was running late , or missing something, or did plans have to change!  the weather was just perfect too!  not too hot, not too cold, just right! no wind, no extreme heat….couldn’t have asked for anything better! We did all the photos before the ceremony, which always turns out so great!  stress-free and pressure free with lots of time! It was a really great day! thank-you both!

The Gregory family came back in for an updated family photo! They have a new addition to their family- Tucker the dog! We did some formal posed images and then had some fun with some casual ones too! Great to see you all! Thank-you for coming!
